How are things, really?

It has been only one week since the fall of Voldemort. And as you might guess things aren’t going well. Families torn apart, friends mercifully murdered, and lives ruined. The grace period is over and people are starting to realize that though the Dark Lord has been destroyed, not everyone’s life has been made better. They’re all very grateful for what has been done, but that doesn’t mean they’re happy. So many senseless deaths. And as most people do when they are upset they are trying to look for someone to blame.

Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. As anyone knows these are the five stages of grieving and everyone goes through them at their own pace. What is right for someone might be wrong for someone else. Everyone grieves in their own way. But the thing about it is, that even though everyone isn’t at the same place right now, doesn’t mean that everyone isn’t feeling the same sort of empty lost feeling. People are grasping for something to make some sort of since out of this. And there are some in history that have been known to take advantage of a grieving state.

And there have been some rises of people trying to get to power and not all of them good. The Ministry of Magic is now headed by Kingsley Shacklebolt who is only Minister temporarily while people decide who should be the real Minister. There are those that think he should stay in power. Mostly those are the people that have been with the Order, those who know what Kingsley stands for is good. Then there is Philander Smith, a descendent of Helga Hufflepuff, he’s not the most likeable guy around that’s for sure and he has some very conservative views, but he honestly wants to try to make things better. And then there is new comer Alphonse Holtz, who has some radical ideas that make some of the other Wizards uncomfortable.
